We are not saying that you can not eat different foods at the same time, but there are certain combinations to watch out for. To digest carbohydrates, your stomach needs an alkaline pH, while the digestion of protein requires a more acidic pH. This means that your stomach has to work extremely hard, and therefore it is best if they are taken separately – for example, one type during lunch and the other for dinner.

Water

You have probably read that you should drink at least two liters of water a day. This is not a random quantity. If you do not consume enough water, it causes a heavier digestion and difficulty going to the toilet (constipation). But still try to stick to a single glass of water during meals so that you do not dilute the stomach pH and make digestion more difficult.

You are overcooking your food

Of course, there are some foods that can not be eaten raw, but sometimes you overcook your food. This removes the nutrients from the food and can actually cause damage to your stomach. Try to eat more raw foods (fruits and vegetables, thank you), whether it is summer or winter. Juices and smoothies can help satisfy your appetite, provide you with nutrients, while avoiding overcooking food.

Red meat lacks the fiber needed for good bowel movements. Therefore, people who consume too much red meat tend to experience colitis, hemorrhoids, constipation and diverticulosis. Remember, your stomach has an elongated shape and a very long intestinal tract, which means that the food is in the body for a long time before it is broken down. This increases the amount of toxins that accumulate in the bloodstream. If you absolutely must eat red meat, do so with a fresh salad filled with vegetables and try not to eat it more than twice a week.
