Furthermore, shortbread is such a popular recipe that, nowadays, there are ways  to make them in the microwave in just 5 minutes.

The ease of preparation lies in the fact that this cake has the shape and size of a regular yogurt because it resembles a glass or a yogurt container. For this reason, this dessert has several benefits. For example:

  • It is a dessert that stays spongy and fresh for several days.
  • It can be eaten  cold or hot from the oven  when made with chocolate.

Ideally, it should be made in a square or rectangular shape, especially if it is a specific type of this dessert.

Otherwise, as we have mentioned before, you can make it in any regular drinking glass. (Of course, keep in mind that the amounts of each ingredient will vary).

How to make a shortbread with orange – step by step

Let’s see how easy it is to make a shortbread at home in just 5 minutes. And, keep in mind that this recipe is suitable for any kind of cake.

You will simply need to replace the primary flavor of your choice. In this regard, the primary flavor is orange, but you can replace it with lemon or chocolate, for example.

Ingredients

  • A natural yogurt
  • 3 eggs
  • Flour ( 3 yogurt containers )
  • Sugar (2 yogurt containers)
  • 1 large orange
  • Olive oil (1 yogurt container)
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • Grease the mold, or baking paper
  • Oil with mild or strong taste, according to your preferences

How to bake your orange cake

  1. First, empty the container with yogurt. The container will be  your universal target for the ingredients in this orange shortbread.
  2. Next, preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 180 ºC.
  3. Next, grate the peel on the orange, without adding the white part.
  4. In a separate bowl, peel the orange and mash it.
  5. In the same bowl, add sugar, eggs, yogurt, orange peel and oil. Blend all the ingredients well.
  6. It is now time to add the flour and yeast. Sift it before adding them.

Then….

  1. Return to the mold and grease it, either with your finger or with a brush, and line it with parchment paper. By doing these two steps, you ensure that the cake does not stick to the mold.
  2. Pour the dough into the greased and coated form, place it on the middle rack in the oven, and bake the cake at 180 ° C for about 35 minutes. Keep in mind that molds with an irregular shape should take 5 to 10 minutes longer in the oven than square molds.
  3. After this time, test the cake with a fork or toothpick, to find out if the cake is ready: Dot the center of the cake with the fork or toothpick, and if it comes out clean, then your orange cake is done. If it comes out with something on, then the cake should bake a little longer, so leave it in the oven for a few more minutes. Repeat if necessary.
  4. Finally, once the cake is baked, take it out of the oven. You need to let it cool down a bit before removing it from the mold so that it does not collapse or break.
  5. Now, the last thing left is to taste it and enjoy the amazing taste.
